Here at custom tuning we are committed to total customer satisfaction and service.
To make this possible we only ever use the very best tuning technology available. From a simple soldering iron to our tuning software, we are not willing to compromise on quality because we don’t think you should have to compromise on service.
Our skilled technicians are more than capable of dealing with any type of tuning or vehicle that they may encounter.
There are a number of ways in which we can communicate with and tune your vehicle. The most commonly used method on modern vehicles is OBD remapping through the vehicles on board diagnostic port.
Direct ECU connection is for when we are unable to communicate with your vehicle via the OBD port. This would mean having to remove the ECU from the vehicle and connecting our specialist programming equipment directly to the ECU.
BDM ECU flashing is used when there is no way to connect directly to the ECU. This method uses cutting edge programming technology and allows us to read and write data from the most modern ECU’S. This is done by connecting probes directly onto the circuit board of the ECU.
Chip tuning is the final and most complicated method of tuning and our ability to do this is what sets us apart from our competitors.
This method is normally used on older vehicles when there is no way of communicating with the ECU. Basically what we would do is remove the Eprom by desoldering it from the ECU, read the information from the Eprom then modify the information in our tuning software. We would then either put your tuned file back into your Eprom or replace the Eprom with a new one as sometimes the Eprom’s are non erasable and then resolder it back into the ECU.
Here at custom tuning we have many years experience in not just the tuning side of things but also the mechanical aspect of tuning. There is a huge difference in tuning a car and understanding why you are changing certain engine parameters. How can somebody who has no mechanical knowledge tune your vehicle to the highest possible standard if they don’t understand the components they are changing?
Our technicians have a combined 25 years experience in the electronics industry and Auto mechanics and are more than qualified to work with any modern ECU or electronic components. Our head technician is second to none when it comes to the electronics side of things.
Our knowledge and understanding of every facet of the tuning process makes us the sensible choice.
